GREG STEWART, President, Sinclar Group Forest Products Ltd.

Greg began his career working in varying roles at Teck Cominco's metallurgical facility in Trail, BC before joining the family business in 2005 as a manager of Winton Global Homes Division. He has played an integral role on the Sinclar Group strategy team, and has been involved in numerous business development initiatives. He was appointed to the presidency in 2009 and continues to strive for sustainable growth both within Sinclar Group and the community. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC and an MBA from the Ivey School of Business in London, Ontario.

 

STEVE REYNOLDS, Chief Financial Officer, Sinclar Group Forest Products Ltd.

Steve Reynolds was named Chief Financial Officer and a member of the Board of Directors for Sinclar Group in January of 2009, after having spent six years as Chief Financial Officer of one of its subsidiaries, Winton Global. Steve has held progressively more senior finance roles in the forest industry, with over 25 years experience working with large public and private companies, including Weldwood, Fletcher Challenge, Timberwest and Slocan. He received a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia, holds a CGA designation, and received his MBA from Royal Roads University.

 

DR. CHARLES JAGO, Board Chair

Dr. Jago completed his doctoral studies at Cambridge University and has held academic appointments in three Canadian universities over forty years. As a university administrator, he was Principal of Huron University College from 1987-95 and President of the University of Northern BC from 1995-2006 and 2008-2009. Currently Dr. Jago is Chair of the Boards of the Northern Health Authority of British Columbia, the Fraser Basin Council, Canfor Pulp Ltd. Partnership, and the Canadian Skin Patient Alliance. He also serves on the Boards of Initiatives Prince George and the Canada West Foundation. Dr. Jago was appointed a Member of the Order of Canada in 2006 in recognition of his distinguished academic career and of his role in the creation of the Northern Medical Program in British Columbia.

 

W.G. (BILL) STEWART, Director

In 1980, Bill joined the family business in a sales and accounting capacity. A long career in the areas of marketing, transportation and general management was capped with a term as President of Sinclar Enterprises Ltd. and Apollo Forest Products Ltd. While he retired from daily operations in 2009, Bill continues to serve as a principal and Director of Sinclar Group Forest Products Ltd and its associated companies. Bill has been involved with various organizations outside the forest industry at provincial and local levels, supporting initiatives in education, arts, recreation and community.

 

KEITH ANDERSEN, Director

Keith joined the organization in 1971 when he was appointed comptroller of Apollo Forest Products Ltd. in Fort St. James, BC. and in 1990 he was appointed to the presidency of Lakeland Mills Ltd. in Prince George, BC. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia and attained his Chartered Accountant's designation in British Columbia in 1970. In 2009 Keith was appointed to the Board of Directors of Sinclar Group Forest Products Ltd. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Council of Forest Industries of BC and its predecessor associations since January 1972, and as President of CONIFER from 1996 to 2009.

 

GORDON ANDERSEN, Director

Gordon holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia and joined the Sinclar Group in 1980. He was appointed to the Board of Fibreco Export Ltd. in 1989, was named President of Excel Transportation Inc. in 2002 and currently serves as President of Ivan Andersen Holdings Ltd.

 

BLAIR MAYES, Director

Blair earned a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from the University of British Columbia and has held senior roles within the region's forestry sector since 1977. He is a Registered Professional Forester (Association of BC Forest Professionals) and long-standing board member – and former Board Chair – of the Northern Forest Products Association and the Council of Forest Industries BC. As a former member and Director of the Free Trade Lumber Council he was closely involved with the industry's actions concerning the Softwood Lumber Agreement.
